Hi, I'm Steve.
I began studying photography after my kids were born because I wanted to take better pictures of my growing family and save those moments for posterity. This hobby became something more when COVID set in and weeks working remote turned into years of limited human interaction and a new way of life.
My once dynamic travel job was reduced to a short walk from the bedroom to the dining room followed by full days of video meetings - I almost went nuts! Photography became a creative outlet for me and a way to get back outside and interact with the world. I grabbed my Nikon camera, began taking courses, and went to work building a professional portfolio of my favorite places to share with the world.
I love capturing beautiful travel destinations including beaches, cityscapes, and landscapes as well as images of life elevated. Being based in Chicago gives me an amazing urban backdrop to work with while my travels give me an opportunity to photograph in various and beautiful locations.

From the Marines to MBA to Photog, passion and purpose is the drive.
To the surprise of my friends and family, I left college halfway through my second year to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps. I felt I had a higher calling to answer and wanted to connect my life to purpose and passion. 6 1/2 years in the U.S. Marines helped me become a man and gave me a chance to see the world; but I knew it was time to go. So, I left and began a traditional academic career, earning a Bachelors Degree in Finance and later an MBA - two things I had always wanted to accomplish. More than a decade later, I have a successful career in Strategy Consulting. That job used to satisfy my travel bug as I traveled all over the country to visit clients but when COVID ended my travel days, I knew I needed something to reignite that passion.
Diving feet first into Photography was the jolt I needed and a change I hope inspires others to pursue what they love and live a life full of travel, adventure, and seeking out their own passions.
